Fifth Word and Mansfield Palace are looking for participants to take part in creative workshops under the guidance of professionals for an exciting co-creation project.
What is co-creation?
Working with a professional playwright each week, you will develop creative skills and develop stories that you want to tell. You’ll chat about things that affect your lives and try out creative ways of telling those stories.
You will learn about different art forms including; filmmaking, playwriting, theatre, poetry, acting, and more. You’ll learn the essentials of how stories can be told in different forms, and explore the stories you are passionate about telling.
At the end of the 9 weeks you will come up with an idea that you think younger audiences in Mansfield might like to see.
It might be a short film (that could be screened at Mansfield Palace & broadcast online & at film festivals); a series of filmed short content for social media platforms; a site-specific walkabout audio piece; another kind of performance piece; or whatever idea the group are most excited by.
You will then have the opportunity to be part of making this idea into a reality in the second phase of the project! (2nd phase dates tbc)
No previous experience or skills needed to take part.
WHEN: 5pm- 6.30pm every Wednesday for 9 weeks from 1st March 2023.
