We’re looking for two to three new Trustees to join Fifth Word’s Board as we start an exciting new chapter.
We’ve recently become a registered charity and are growing our ambitions for the years ahead, producing more new plays, supporting more writers, developing new partnerships and building stronger connections with under-represented communities across the East Midlands.
Our Trustees play an important role in helping shape Fifth Word’s future, providing strategic oversight, supporting and challenging the leadership team, and making sure the organisation is run responsibly and effectively.
We’re interested in what you can bring, whether that’s professional expertise, lived experience, knowledge of our communities, or a genuine passion for theatre and the arts.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in Finance and Accounting, Fundraising, Legal, HR, Diversity and Inclusion, Programming and Producing, or Partnership Building. We especially welcome interest from people currently under-represented in the arts and cultural sector.
You don’t need to have been a Trustee before. New Trustees will receive an induction and support to help them get to know Fifth Word and understand their responsibilities.
Commitment: Four Board meetings per year, plus occasional support and advice, approximately 6–7 days across the year in total.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be covered.
