Omar has recently been on an RTYDS 18 Month Residency at Derby Theatre.

As a director, facilitator and writer based in the Midlands, his process is centered in collaboration and experimentation. Omar’s work engages marginalised communities and enables conversations around topics including: grief, identity, and spirituality.

An alumnus of Birmingham REP’s Foundry scheme & Tamasha’s Directors Programme, he is an Associate Artist at Derby Theatre, and a tutor with their Years 4-6 Youth Theatre & Hubbub Theatre.

Current projects include: A Beginner’s Guide to Widowhood [ACE, Derby Theatre, In Good Company, The Big House]; 4 Walls [Derby CAN, Derby Theatre]; and Interdimensional Phishing Scam [Chronic Insanity Theatre]
