Your Voice 2024

#3a0029

A new filmmaking project with young people in Mansfield

Fifth Word, in collaboration with Mansfield Palace Theatre and Mansfield Town Film Festival, launched Your Voice 2024.

Your Voice worked with a group of young people aged 14-19* in Mansfield (*or up to 25 if they identified as having a disability) to lead them in a series of free filmmaking workshops led by professional artists Sophie Ellerby and Michael Jobling.

The young creatives formed their own production company called My Place and developed creative skills and explored stories they were passionate about telling. They gained experience working alongside industry professionals and were offered hands-on filmmaking experience to help develop practical knowledge and skills.

At the end of the programme, the young people created two original films that were screened as part of the Mansfield Town Film Festival on 26-28th July 2024.
