Everybody Look at Me
by Paul Buie
After the success of Paul Buie's previous play 'Painkillers', Fifth Word commissioned Buie to write a one-act play for 'Exposure'.
'Exposure' launched in 2010 and aimed to showcase some of the best new writing talent in the country. As part of this event 'Everybody Look at Me' played at Derby Guildhall Theatre and Oldham Coliseum Theatre during September 2010.
Lauren is a casualty of the banking collapse and no longer a high flyer – but there are other routes she can take through life – teaching, for example. Shaping young minds.
And there are worse things in life than moving back into the family home to regroup and start the ascent again.
But that’s the problem with being an ex-high flyer. Back at ground level, you’re so much closer to reality. Whether you like it or not.
